Wanda was born in Longworth, Texas to Melvin Richard ("Jack") and Pauline Gann on July 10, 1930. She attended several different schools throughout her Elementary and Junior High School days due to her father's occupation but graduated from Sylvester High School in 1947. She married David Kelly on August 2, 1947 in Sweetwater. She worked in various service industry jobs until her retirement. She regularly attended the First Baptist Church of Sylvester until moving to Abilene. She then attended Second Baptist Church of Abilene where she was an active church member until she was no longer able to drive. She loved her Sunday School Class and especially loved working the telephone tree and talking with all the "girls" who loved and supported her walk in faith.

Wanda was preceded in death by her parents, Jack and Pauline Gann; her husband of 56 years, David Kelly; her sisters Dorothy Gerth and Gay Williams; her great grandson, Baylor Jones; and her grandson-in-law, Anthony Mora; as well as numerous cousins, nieces and nephews.

Wanda is survived by her daughters, Brenda (husband Phil Baar) of McKinney, Texas, Debra ("Debbie") (husband Robert Mabry) of Beaverton, Oregon and Jackie (husband Dean Ververs) of Clyde, Texas; grandchildren Scott Baar, Shawn Baar, Robert Baar, Tonya Bloomfield, Timothy Jones, Candis Mora, Amanda Mabry-Flynn and David Mabry; great grandchildren Kelly Fleeman, Summer Carnes, Brianna Jones, Tyler Jones, Gage Bloomfield, Jackson Bloomfield, Julianna Baar, Ryan Baar, Anthony Mora, Emma Mora, Cisco Mora, Liam Flynn, Molly Flynn, Miles Mabry and Parker Mabry; and one great-great grandson, Zachary Fleeman. She is also survived by her special adopted family, Tommy Brooks, Toby Brooks and Donovan Brooks!

Memorials may be given to Meals on Wheels of the Big Country.

For several years, even though she was losing her eyesight, she crocheted and donated lap blankets for Meals on Wheels recipients. While living at Lyndale Assisted Living for 3.5 years, she crocheted blankets for many of the residents and some of the staff. She always had a crochet hook in her hand or nearby.

The family of Wanda Joy Kelly wishes to extend our sincere thanks to Dr. Hari Kalla, Dr.Yogi Patel, Dr. Zoey Walker, the staff at Avir of Abilene and Alpha Omega Hospice. A heartfelt and special thank you to Tommy Brooks, Toby Brook and Candis Mora for visiting, running errands and transporting her during the last several years after her eyesight got so bad she could not drive. Your kindness will never be forgotten.
