Trudy Severance

Trudy Severance, 65, of Abilene, passed away Sunday, December 26, 2021 at her home. She was born on May 17, 1956 in Dinuba, CA to Simon and Guadalupe Castañon. She was raised in Cutler, CA.

A Celebration of her life will be held on Wednesday, January 5, 2022 at 12:30 pm at The Hamil Family Funeral Home, 6449 Buffalo Gap Road. Committal service will follow at 2:00 pm at the Texas State Veterans Cemetery at Abilene.

Trudy worked in the nursery as a child caregiver at Wylie Baptist Church. She was a mother to many, and her legacy will be remembered by all whose lives she touched.

She was preceded in death by her parents.

Trudy is survived by her loving husband, Marty Severance; her three sons and their wives, Tito and Shawna Ledesma, Israel and Nancy Ledesma, and Steve Ledesma; her three daughters and their husbands, Monica and Mike Montes, Stacy and Leonard Vargas, Kelly and Danny Sears, and Trish Buras. She also leaves behind her brother Alex Castañon, and her two sisters, Rosie Castañon, and Carmen Nanez and husband Joe. Trudy had 19 grandchildren, and 13 great-grandchildren.
