Tom Lindley, 67, of Abilene, passed away on Monday, March 16, 2026, in Fort Worth, Texas.
A memorial service will be held at 11:00 am, Tuesday, March 24, 2026, at The Episcopal Church of the Heavenly Rest, 602 Meander St., with Rev. David Romanik officiating. A reception will immediately follow in Gerhart Hall.
Jerry Thomas Lindley was born in Abilene to Mary Louise (Garrett) and Joe Mack Lindley on Friday, November 14, 1958. He graduated from Cooper High school in 1977 then attended Texas Tech University where he was a member of Sigma Phi Epsilon and graduated from The University of Texas, Austin. He owned and operated Contract Paving Co. after purchasing it from his parents. He built several beautiful subdivisions with his company AJWO, Inc in Abilene and Tuscola; he had a gift for creating. He married JDana Carlile in 1984 in Abilene. Tom was a member of The Episcopal Church of the Heavenly Rest.
Tom was a warm, generous, fun, inventive, and kind person with an enthusiasm for life. He enjoyed his family, UT Longhorns, golf, travel, playing cards, cars and equipment. He could be anywhere in the world and always find someone he knew.
Tom was preceded in death by his parents, Mary and Joe Mack Lindley; his daughter, Livi Lindley; brother, Jay Lindley.
Tom is survived by his wife, JDana Lindley; daughter, Alex McClure and husband Marshal; son, Will Lindley and wife Janellys and their son Gabriel; son, Theo Lindley, all of Abilene; sister, Lou Ann Lindley.
He is also survived by numerous extended family and friends including Jena and Curt Moore, Jim and Bandi Benton, Don Wallace and Brenda Jenkins, Bonnie Scott, Kay Manwarren, Bill Bailey, Pete Wells, David Waldrop, Robert Pace and Jill Walters, and Edna Core.
Memorials may be given to The Episcopal Church of the Heavenly Rest, 602 Meander St., Abilene, TX, 79602 or St. John’s Episcopal School, 1600 Sherman Dr. Abilene, TX 79605 and Shades of Hope, 402 Mulberry St., Buffalo Gap, TX 79508.
