Tanya Elaine Bolt

June 7, 1957 — April 2, 2026

Tanya Elaine (Loury) Bolt, 68, of Abilene, Texas, passed away on April 2, 2026.

Tanya was born in Sterling City, Texas, on June 7, 1957, to Wayne and Mary (Williams) Loury. She grew up in Valley, graduating from Valley High School before earning her associate degree from Amarillo College. On October 7, 1978, she married the love of her life, Dr. Allen Bolt, in Turkey, Texas. Together they built a life rooted in service, compassion, and community.

After their marriage, Allen and Tanya lived in Guthrie and Paducah before moving to Hamlin in 1985 to open their first veterinary clinic. What began as a profession quickly became their shared passion. Over their 13 years in Hamlin, they formed deep friendships and cared for countless animals and families. In 1999, they moved to Abilene to open another clinic, where Tanya continued to pour her heart into her clients and their pets. She had a gift for connection-every person and every animal who walked through her doors mattered to her.

Tanya's greatest joy was her family. She was a devoted mother to Courtney and Clayton, but becoming "Foxy" to her grandson Caleb was the role that lit up her world.

Her compassion extended far beyond her clinic. Because of her deep love for homeless animals, she and Allen partnered with Rescue the Animals, helping more than 30,000 animals receive the medical care they needed. Tanya also believed strongly in supporting children and the elderly, contributing generously to organizations such as Ben Richey Boys Ranch, Hendrick Home for Children, Meals on Wheels, and many other nonprofits close to her heart.

Tanya was preceded in death by her grandparents, Willard and Christine Williams; her parents, Wayne and Mary Loury; and her uncle, Jerry Williams.

She is survived by her husband, Dr. Allen Bolt; her daughter, Courtney Bolt, and husband, Carlos Serna; her son, Clayton Bolt; and her beloved grandson, Caleb Serna. She also leaves behind many "extra kids," dear friends, cherished employees and their families, and her treasured dogs-all of whom she loved deeply.

Tanya lived a life defined by generosity, loyalty, and kindness. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that memorials be made to the nonprofit organization of your choice so that her spirit of giving may continue.

A private celebration of life will be held at a later date.
