Sylvia Lynn (Sommer) Holcomb-Woodall

We are saddened to announce the passing of a true angel on earth.

Sylvia was born on December 14, 1959 in Mount Pleasant, Texas and passed at the young age of 64 on March 27, 2024. She graduated from Bellaire High School in Houston and the University of Texas School of Communications with a Bachelor's Degree in Advertising.

Funeral services will be held Friday, April 5 at 2PM with CV Blake officiating. Visitation will be on Thursday, April 4 from 6-8PM. Both will be at The Hamil Family Funeral Home, 6449 Buffalo Gap Road. Burial will be at Elmwood Memorial Park. Services are under the direction of The Hamil Family Funeral Home.

She was preceded in death by her father Charlie Martin Sommer, grandmother Ethyln Fern Robison, grandfather Charles Robison, grandmother Rosa Lee Sommer and grandfather Gilbert Sommer.

She is survived by her mother Nancy Lou Sommer, husband Blake Woodall, brother Don Sommer and sister in law Cindy Sommer, daughter Hailey Michelle Holcomb and son in law Gabriel Mascorella, grandchildren Aston Everett and Berkeley Rain, niece Kaylin Sommer, nephew Dayne Sommer and Steel Sommer, along with several aunts, uncles, and cousins.

Sylvia was passionately devoted to her family, with her daughter and grandchildren being the pride and joy of her life. She was deeply rooted in her community, along with her husband Blake, devoting much time to events, volunteering and simply enjoying the fellowship of friends, neighbors, and acquaintances. Her other passion was quilting and sprinkling quilted hearts in her community and travel routes.

Pallbearers will be Dayne Sommer, Don Sommer, Stan Chapman, Gabe Mascorella and Brian and Michael Tiemann.

Honorary Pallbearers will be Aston Hampton and Steel Sommer
