Shirley Ann Reed went to be with her Lord and Savior Monday, June 29, 2026. Shirley was born April 8, 1939, in Shamrock, Texas. She married the love of her life, Bill Reed, July 19, 1957 in Borger.
Shirley’s happiness was found in watching her children and grandchildren participating in sports and extracurricular activities. She also loved the game of golf, playing the slots, a good game of gin and going to the horse races in Ruidoso. Shirley was a special friend to so many in her Abilene circle as well as Ruidoso. She will be missed dearly by all the lives she touched.
Shirley is proceeded in death by her husband of 57 years, Bill, her parents Winnie Anderson and Lynn Tidwell, a brother, Bill Tidwell and grandchild, baby Charlie and a sister in law, Anita Reed.
She is survived by her children Julie and Al Alejandro, Judy and Charles Hughes and Joe Reed, grandchildren Amee and Pro Camacho, Derick and Alexis Hughes, Ashley Lawson, Bryce and Daron Hughes, Cody and Tristan Lawson and Chris and Allie Alejandro, nineteen great grandchildren and 6 great great grandchildren, her sister Barbara and Johnny Willis, brothers in law; Vance Reed and Dale and Carolyn Reed and her special friend, Dewayne Chitwood.
A memorial service will be held Monday, July 6, 2026, Wylie Methodist Church at 2:00 pm. A private burial will be held at a later date.
The family would like to extend a special thanks to Dee Thompson and Alexia Peralez, with Visiting Angels, for their love and care they provided Shirley.
