Sherrel Cauldwell

Sherrel Joan Cauldwell, 82, of Tuscola, passed away on Thursday, October 12, 2023, in Tuscola.

Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m., Saturday, October 14, 2023, at The Hamil Family Funeral Home, 6449 Buffalo Gap Road, Abilene, with Rev. Barry Taylor officiating. Burial will follow in Midway Cemetery near Goldsboro, Texas. Services are under the direction of The Hamil Family Funeral Home.

Sherrel was born in Guthrie, Oklahoma, to W.H. Camp and Lila May Dixon on August 6, 1941. She went to school at 12 different schools in Oklahoma before graduating from Orlando, Oklahoma. She married Jack D. Cauldwell on September 5, 1964, in Stillwater, Oklahoma. She worked as a secretary for Oklahoma State University in the Security Office for four years. After she and her husband moved to the Columbus, Ohio area, she worked for The United Way.

Sherrel was preceded in death by her husband Jack D. Cauldwell, Mom and Dad.

Sherrel is survived by her son, Michael Cauldwell and wife Melissa; granddaughters, Rebecca Cauldwell, and Emily Cauldwell; sister, Brenda Camp; cousins, Debbie Sansom and husband Glen, Ethan Whitehead, Ron and Beth Dixon and their children.

In lieu of flowers donations may be given to Taylor County Extension Education Association to the Texas TEEA 4-H Scholarship fund: 1982 Lytle Way, Abilene, Texas 79602 or to Hospice of the Big Country: 4601 Hartford St., Abilene, Texas 79605.
