Sheila Kay Fox was born in Electra, Texas on September 4th, 1959, to Oral Andrew Fox and Peggy Marie Fox. She was the baby sister to brothers Mark Andrew Fox and Dale Lynn Fox. She passed away peacefully on June 19, 2026, after a brief struggle with cancer.
Funeral services will be held Saturday, June 27, 2026 at 4:30pm in the First Baptist Church Sanctuary 1333 No. 3rd Abilene, TX. There will be a visitation at 3:30pm prior to the service on Saturday in the First Baptist Church dining room.
She moved to Ranger, Texas in August 1968 and entered third grade. While attending school in Ranger she was in the Beta Club, and voted Outstanding Bandsman, Best All Around, FFA Sweetheart, and Mrs. RHS.
Sheila graduated from Angelo State University in 1985 with her Associate of Science in Nursing. She went on to earn her Bachelor of Science in Nursing later in her career. She served as a nurse in Abilene and Plano through most of her adult life.
Sheila married Steven Everette Chapman, where together they raised their two boys in Abilene and Plano, Christoper Steven Chapman, and Casey Jordan Chapman.
Throughout Sheila’s life she was a loving aunt to Mark Andrew Fox Jr., Chadwick Shane Fox, Lance Andrew Fox, and Shaun Dale Fox. She carried that on as a great aunt--Sheshe--to numerous nieces and nephews.
Sheila was blessed with the love, support, and friendship of many. She cherished a close-knit group of women who became her chosen sisters. Their bond, forged through years of friendship, was marked by unwavering devotion, countless memories, and deep affection. Once you were her friend, you would be for life.
