Sharon Denice Strickland

Sharon Denice Strickland, 57 of Abilene, passed away on Friday, December 12. 2025 at Hendrick Hospice Care Center in Abilene, Texas.

Graveside services will be held 1:00pm Saturday, December 20, 2025, at the Highland Cemetery in Stamford, Texas, with minister Dan Bullock of First Baptist church, Weinert, Texas, officiating. Arrangements are with The Hamil Family Funeral Home 6449 Buffalo Gap Rd, Abilene, Texas.

Denice was born in Lake Worth, Texas to Kenneth W. Young and Ann S. (Caffey) Young on April 26, 1968. She graduated from Haskell High School and later married Wesley David Strickland in Weinert at the First Baptist Church. She was a full-time mother, wife and homemaker. She loved Youth Sports and was the coach of several teams. She also enjoyed remodeling the homes they bought and lived in.

Denice was preceded in death by their son; Bryson Young and her parents, Kenneth and Ann Young and her brother, Rocky Young.

Denice is survived by her husband, Wes Strickland; son, Tyler Strickland and his wife, Sierra; daughter in law, Lynna Young and grandson, Jacob Young; sister, Tammy Bell; brother, Travis Young; sister-in-law, Penny Young and stepmother, Carla Young; her in laws, David Jim and Debbie Strickland and her best friend, Jacklyn Wheatly.
