Sarah Rebecca "Becky" Hill (Jones)

September 29, 1959 — January 23, 2025

It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Sarah Rebecca "Becky" Hill (Jones), beloved mother, sister, daughter, and friend, who passed away on January 23, 2025, in Abilene, TX.

Born on September 29, 1959, in Dublin, TX, to Richard and JoAnn Jones, Becky grew up in Abilene, TX, where she graduated from Cooper High School in 1978. A natural leader, she excelled academically, athletically, and socially. She was a talented tennis player, member of student organizations, and Talisman Queen. Becky was also honored as a debutante and Cotillion Belle of Abilene, reflecting her grace and poise.

She went on to attend the University of Texas at Austin, earning a degree in finance in 1982. While there, she was a proud member of the Kappa Kappa Gamma sorority. Becky's love of learning didn't stop after college, as she pursued advanced education throughout her life, including finance and psychology. She devoted much of her career to banking, rising to the role of Senior Vice President of Commercial Lending at First National Bank of Abilene (now First Financial Bank). Although she never formally practiced as a counselor, her compassionate nature made her a trusted source of support and encouragement, particularly for those in recovery.

As a mother, Becky was a shining example of unconditional love, devotion, and benevolence. She was not only a warm and inspiring presence in Abbey's life, but also a beloved figure to her daughter's friends, who admired her for her acceptance, sincerity, and ability to make everyone feel valued. She made motherhood look joyful and fun, always serving as a confidante, cheerleader, and source of unwavering support.

In addition to her career, Becky was deeply committed to her community, serving in leadership roles including the Grace Museum, Abilene Zoological Society, and the Junior League of Abilene. A woman of faith, she was raised at St. Paul United Methodist Church and cherished her time at Beltway Park Church, where she was especially involved in the Celebrate Recovery mission.

Becky was admired by all who knew her for her kindness, charisma, intelligence, beauty, and compassion for others from all walks of life. Becky treated all people with respect and genuine interest. Her smile, friendliness, and quick wit left a memorable impression on those around her.

Becky is survived by her daughter and son in law, Andy and Abbey Linn; her mother, JoAnn Jones; her brother, Chris Jones and his wife, Jayme, and their daughters, Jordyn and Jayda Jones. She is preceded in death by her father, Richard Jones, and her brother, Carlton Jones.

A memorial service will be held on Thursday, January 30, 2025, at 5:00 PM at The Well in Abilene, TX. Flower arrangements can be sent to Hamil Family Funeral Home in Abilene, TX.
