Sammy Lynn Fulgham

Sam Fulgham, 83, a lifelong resident of Texas, passed away Saturday September 20, 2025 in Abilene.

Visitation will be 4:00pm to 6:00pm on Wednesday September 24, 2025, at The Hamil Family Funeral Home. The family asks the attendees to wear red, white and blue to honor a true Texan at heart.

Sammy Lynn was born in Nugent, Texas to Tommy and Lenora Fulgham on June 29, 1942, and graduated from Lueders High School.

He married his high school sweetheart, Linda Joy Evetts on January 11, 1964. They shared 57 wonderful years together until her passing on December 31, 2021. He was an avid outdoorsman who cherished spending time with his children and grandchildren at the Brazos River, which he considered his "happy place”.

Sam worked for Automation starting in 1967 and retired from Lockheed Martin in 1995 then to Dillard’s for 20 years until full retirement.

Sam is preceded in death by his wife and parents, his sister, Glenda Crockett and a brother, Don Fulgham.

Survivors include his son; Troy Fulgham and wife, Traci, daughter; Tracy Mitchell and husband, Doyle, Grandchildren; Kendall Mitchell and wife, Valerie, Lindsey Scrivner, Justin Fulgham, Tyler Fulgham and wife, Bethany, Allison Mitchell, Destiny Langford, Emily Fain and Caitlin Burns. Great Grandchildren are Keegan, Anhelica, Tynlee, Alexavier, Brilyn, Kayson, Tailyn, Adym, Addison, Adyn, Caden, Creed, Banks, and his sister; Karolyn Reves, his brother; Larry Fulgham.
