Ruth Elizabeth Toney Edmison

Ruth Edmison passed away on July 19, 2008 at the Windcrest Alzheimer's Care Center in Abilene, Texas. She was born in Electra, Texas on October 1 1918. She married Jerrell D. Edmison in 1938 in Baird, Texas. He preceded her in death as did her parents, Vannie and Gladys Toney; two children, Verna Ruth and Van Robert Edmison; brother, J.T. Toney and sister Ruby Glover. Ruth owned and operated Merle Norman Cosmetics Studio in Del Rio, Texas for many years and was active in various conservative political initiatives. She was a member of St. James Episcopal Church in Del Rio. Graveside services will be held at the Buffalo Gap Cemetery on Friday, July 25, 2008 at 10:00 a.m. with The Rev. Mary Glover of The Church of the Heavenly Rest, Episcopal, officiating. Left to Cherish her memory is her son, Jerry Edmison and wife Carolyn of Buffalo Gap; grandchildren, Stephanie Kurpiewski and husband Timothy of Dripping Springs, Texas, and Stephen Edmison and wife Mary of Deming, New Mexico; great grandchildren, Clay, Callie and Conner Kurpiewski, and Owen and Grace Edmison.
