Ruth Cox

Ruth Cox, 95, of Abilene passed away on Sunday, July 10, 2022 in Abilene.  Viewing will be Friday, July 15th from 8:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m. at The Hamil Family Funeral Home.  Graveside service will be 10:00 a.m. Saturday, July 16, 2022 at Elmwood Memorial Park Cemetery with Greg Melton officiating.  Services are under the direction of The Hamil Family Funeral Home, 6449 Buffalo Gap Road.

Ruth was born March 17, 1927 in Floydada, TX to A.J. and Amy Lola Brown.  She graduated form Seymour High School.  She married Alvin Cox on March 27, 1946 in Childress, TX.  She was a home keeper and loved gardening & was a seamstress.

Ruth was preceded in death by her parents, husband, daughters, Teresa Barron & Julia Lewis.  Three sisters, Dorothy Bradford, Martha Elizabeth Williams & Merry Ann Bench. 

She is survived by one grandson, Brad Barron & wife Alice, one great-granddaughter, Erika Barron.

Memorials may be given to the Highway 36 Church of Christ.
