Ruby Josephine Day

Ruby Jo Day Ruby, 102, of Abilene, Texas, passed away on September 11, 2025.

Visitation will be 12:00pm to 1:00pm on Saturday, September 20, 2025 at The Hamil Family Funeral Home.

Funeral services will be held 1:00 PM Saturday September 20, 2025 at The Hamil Family Funeral Home with the Rev. Dr. Russell Miller of First United Methodist Church, officiating. Burial will follow at Elmwood Memorial Park. Services are under the direction of The Hamil Family Funeral Home, 6449 Buffalo Gap Road.

Ruby was born in Loraine, TX. to John and Josephine (Robertson) Marshall on December 20, 1922. She married William Kenneth Day on March 14, 1944 in Loraine, Texas. She worked as a teacher for the Houston ISD for six years. She was involved in the First United Methodist Church for several years.

Ruby was preceded in death by her husband, William Kenneth Day; her children, Wanye and Marsha Jane Day and her parents, John and Josephine Marshall.

Ruby is survived by daughter-in law, Marta Day of Horseshoe Bay, TX; her grandchildren, Joanna Day and Mathew Day; great grandchildren are Conner Day, Charlie, Luke and Rose Moorehead.
