Ronald Frank Beyer

Ronald Frank Beyer, beloved husband, father, grandfather and US Army veteran, passed away on April 23, 2026, in Pflugerville, Texas, at the age of 83. 

Colonel Beyer was born on March 19, 1943, in Abilene, Texas and graduated from Wylie High School. Ron was a proud graduate of Texas A&M University, Class of 1965, where he earned a Bachelor of Science in Agricultural Economics. He continued his education by earning master’s degrees from Webster University, Salve Regina College, and the United States Naval War College.

Ron entered the United States Army on September 11, 1967, beginning a distinguished military career defined by dedication and professionalism.

On November 27, 1970, he married his wife of over 55 years, Belinda Menking in Hawaii while on leave from Vietnam. Following their honeymoon, Ron returned to Vietnam, and Belinda returned to Texas as a new bride and an Army wife. They were reunited months later and created a loving partnership that brought two sons and eventually two granddaughters and saw them assigned to duty stations in Texas, Georgia, Alabama, Kansas, Missouri, Rhode Island, Germany, and Korea. Ron served a tour in Vietnam, a tour like no other, which to this day formed a brotherhood like no other.

Following his retirement from the Army, Ron began a second career in the highway safety industry.

Ron was preceded in death by his parents, Erwin Frank Beyer and Georgia Vada Yates Beyer; in-laws Robert and Dolly Newton and Melvin Menking; his brothers, Joseph Erwin Beyer, Eugene Albert Beyer, and Kenneth Dale Beyer; and his sister, Barbara Jean Kirby and brother-in-law Brian Zigal. He is survived by his sister, Rita Carol Bozarth (Bo), sister-in-law Debbie Zigal and brother-in-law Myron Menking (Laura) as well as his many nieces and nephews and their families.
