Rodney Ray Price, of Abilene, Tx passed away at 81 years gf age.  after a lengthy illness on March 27, 2022 in his home at Wisteria Independent Living surrounded by family and many friends.

Visitation will be 5:00-7:00pm, Wednesday, March 30, 2022 at The Hamil Family Funeral Home, 6449 Buffalo Gap Road..

Graveside services and burial  will be held at 11:00 am, Thursday, March 31, 2022 at The Texas State Veterans Cemetery at Abilene, 7457 West Lake Road, with Chaplain Wesley Erickson of Hendrick Hospice Care, officiating along with his brethren of Abilene Masonic Lodge #559. Pall Bearers will be Jason Price, Jarred Price, Glen Gibbs, Jordan Gibbs, Clayton Young, and Curry Allen.

Rodney was born in Odessa Tx, December 14, 1940. He went to school in Abilene, Tx from College Heights Elementary to Abilene High School with many beloved and dear friends that still met monthly for dinner and visited weekly in person or by phone. He worked as a barber for 50 years, mostly at his own Rodney's Family Hairstyle in Abilene, Tx. He served many clients, family, and friends as their one and only barber during his career! He was a veteran of the Vietnam War serving in the US Navy, he was always passionate about the Red, White, and Blue! Rodney was very involved for more than 50 plus years, in all aspects of service and positions in his Abilene Masonic Lodge 559 and the Albany Masonic Lodge. These special men were not only his friends but he called them his brothers. He attended and served many years at his church, when he was younger and raising a family at First Central Presbyterian and as he grew older at Westminster Presbyterian Church of Abilene.

Rodney was preceded in death by his mother (Minnie Price Adams), sister and brother-in-law (Mary and Gene Allen), his daughter (Gina Rae Price), the mother of his 3 daughters and high school sweetheart (JoAnn Bean Price Musick).

Rodney is survived by his daughters, Teena McCrary of Albany and Melissa (Missy) Gibbs and her spouse, Glen Gibbs of Abilene, 5 grandchildren Jason Price (Jennifer) of Albany, Jarred Price (Rhianna) of Anson, Brittany Smith (Travis) of Clyde, Jessie Jo Young (Clayton) of Tuscola, and Jordan Gibbs (Kari) of Tulsa, Ok., 14 great-grandchildren, nephews Curry Allen (Rae Nelle) of Tuscola and Ronny Allen (Betty) of Arizona and one niece, Jan Six (Gene) of Abilene, TX.

Memorials may be given to Hendrick Hospice Care, Meals on Wheels, or any charity of your choice. The family of Rodney Price wishes to extend our sincere thanks to Hendrick Hospice Care, Visiting Angels Home Health (Rodney's personal  Angel's- Keri, Tammy, Natasha and Chris), and all his  friends of Wisteria Independent Living, especially his "Patio Party Pals" that loved and cared for him so well these past 2 years!
