Robert Kenneth Shipman Jr., 72 yrs old of Odessa, Texas passed unexpectedly on January 3, 2026, in Abilene, Texas.
He was born on March 10, 1953, In Abilene, Texas, to Kenneth and Minnie Shipman.
He was an avid hunter and fisherman. He was always full of laughter and stories. He passed on his love of animals to his children and his knowledge of all things nature to everyone he met.
He was an electrician by trade, an environmentalist, and sold insurance. He also owned and operated his own Hotshot trucking business.
He was also an incredible athlete, including playing semi-pro baseball, and Golden Glove boxing.
He is survived by his parents Kenneth and Minnie Shipman; wife of 53 years Billie Shipman and 5 children; sons Clint Shipman, Bret Shipman and his wife Jennifer, Brian Shipman and his wife Rebecca, Roger Shipman and daughter Amy Tillery (Shipman) along with 9 Grandchildren and 7 Great Grandchildren.
He is preceded in death by his younger brother David Shipman.
Memorial graveside services will be 2:00pm January 17, 2026, at Kendrick Cemetery across from the Denton Valley FBC 11657 FM 604 in Clyde, Texas 79510.
