Robert May

Robert Charles May Jr., 94, died March 5, 2024 in Bellevue, WA.  A memorial service will be held at 1:00pm on Friday, May 24th at Aldersgate Abilene Methodist Church with Dustin Wilhite officiating. Burial will follow at 3:00pm at Texas State Veterans Cemetery at Abilene.

 Bob was born January 23, 1930 in Trenton, NC to Robert Charles May Sr. and Clara Mae Lowery May.  He graduated from Greenville NC High School and attended East Carolina State College for 2 years before entering the United States Naval Academy in 1950.  He graduated and was commissioned as a 2nd lieutenant in the US Air Force in 1954.  He met his future wife, Jill, in Dallas while en route to Big Spring, TX for pilot training.  They were married in 1957 and moved many times during his Air Force career.  He retired as a colonel at Dyess Air Force Base in Abilene, TX in 1982 where they remained.

 Bob is survived by his daughter Laura Hill, son-in-law Scott Hill & granddaughter Arin Hill.
