Ray Overbey

Ray Overbey, 59, passed away on October 24th, 2014, in Abilene, TX. Ray Overbey was born in Childress, TX on November 7th, 1954. He graduated from Childress High School. He received his undergraduate degree from McMurry University, and obtained his MBA from Abilene Christian University. Ray married Shelley Overbey on September 12th, 1997, in Las Vegas, Nevada. Ray primarily worked for U.S. Brass/Selkirk, Inc. as Vice President of Operations (U.S. & Mexico) for over 29 years. He was also on the YMCA Board of Directors for many years. Ray was an avid golfer, and took every opportunity to spend time out on the course playing and socializing with friends. He also loved being with his family, as well as travelling and taking trips on his motorcycle. Ray Overbey is preceded in death by his father, Donald Overbey, in 2010. Ray is survived by his wife, Shelley Overbey, his son Zach Overbey and step-daughter Jessica Bramel, his mother Mary Reavis, and his brother Brent Overbey. Funeral services will be held at Hamil Family Funeral Home at 6449 Buffalo Gap Rd., Abilene, TX at 11 a.m. on Tuesday, October 28th, 2014.
