Paz Sangco Mapoy

Paz Sangco Mapoy, 89, from Candaba, Pampanga Philippines, passed away on July 20, 2025 surrounded by her loved ones in Abilene, TX.

Visitation will be held at Hamil Family Funeral Home on Tuesday, July 29 from 4pm to 6pm with a rosary to follow from 6pm to 7:30pm.

Funeral services will be held Wednesday, July 30 at 10am at Holy Family Catholic Church with Father Nilo of Holy Family Catholic Church officiating. Services are under the direction of The Hamil Family Funeral Home, 6449 Buffalo Gap Road. The funeral service will be recorded which will be made available following the conclusion of the service.

Paz was born in Candaba, Pampanga Philippines to Felix & Sixta Sangco on April 27, 1936. she married Severino Mapoy on July 22 in Pampanga, Philippines. To know her was to love her. She was a Loving mother, grandmother and great grandmother. She was always smiling and could make the room laugh with her silly statements. Determined to show her children and grandchildren the life she never got, Paz instilled in them the unshakable belief that anything is possible with God, hard work and love. She will be missed dearly but remembered with love by all who knew her.

Paz was preceded in death by her parents Felix & Sixta Sangco and her brothers Randolph, Santiago, Emilio, Virgilio, Edilberto & Cornelio.

Paz is survived by her children and spouses Florian & Edna Mapoy, Margarita & Tom Mendoza, Stan & Fhritzie Mapoy, Julie & Shane Sisante, Nestor & Marie Mapoy, Andy & Evelyn Mapoy, and Zarina & Elmer Calingo. Her sister Fe Orris. Her grandchildren Anthony, May, BJ, Irish Mendoza, Trixie & Micheal David; Jude & Josh Mapoy; Julius, Shannen, & Julian Sisante; Troy & Tiara Mapoy; Ethan, Alyssa, Elise & Emilene Calingo; Angeline, Anton & Diana Mapoy. Great grandchild, Chico David.
