Paulann Newman

Ann LeMarquand Newman, 73, most recently of Abilene, TX passed away at her home on Friday, May 22, 2020. She was born Paulann LeMarquand on Saturday, November 9, 1946 in Midland, TX to Edward Philip LeMarquand and Winona (Jones) LeMarquand. She was known by friends and loved ones as Ann and Nanny to her grandchildren. Memorial services will be held at 2 pm on Friday, May 29, 2020 at The Hamil Family Funeral Home, 6449 Buffalo Gap Road, with Pastor Stan Allcorn of Pioneer Drive Baptist Church officiating. Ann grew up in Midland and Snyder, Texas where she made lifelong friends. She graduated from Midland High School and went on to The University of Texas at Austin. While working in Austin, she met the love of her life, Tom Newman. They married August 5, 1966 in Austin, Texas. In 1969, they moved to Midland where they raised their family. Ann and Tom were passionate about their family, friends, cooking, and traveling. She was preceded in death by her parents, Edward and Winona LeMarquand; husband, Thomas Newman; and daughter, Ashley Alise Gotovac. Ann is survived by her daughter, Caaren Newman Wooliscroft and husband Kent of Abilene, TX, their children, Alex (Austin, TX), Jeffrey and wife Summer (Dallas, TX), and Annie; son, Ted Newman of Austin, TX and wife Sherry, their children, Wyatt and Ella; granddaughter, Victoria Gotovac (Lubbock, TX); grandsons, Porter and Gage Gotovac (Dallas, TX); sister, Liz LeMarquand, and her children Megan, Philip, and Ross Jones; sister, Loren Rich and husband John, and their children, Jennifer Wetmore and husband Jason and Kasey Weishuhn and husband Jonathan, their children Hayden, Kinsley and Logan. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Rescue The Animals, the Abilene Food Pantry, or Meals on Wheels.
