Patricia Louise Ambrose

Patricia Louise Ambrose, age 88 was called home on April 11, 2022, around 11am.  She had been in a private home care facility in Abilene, Texas after several stays in the hospital. 

Burial will be at Sunset Memorial Gardens & Funeral Home in Odessa, Texas on Friday, April 22, at 1:30 pm.  A memorial service is being planned for a later date and will be held at Pioneer Drive Baptist Church.

Pat was born on January 14, 1934, to D.L and Georgia "Lorene" Moreland in Wingate, Texas. She had 3 older siblings Norma "Dean" Robinson; Dorothy Nell Dunam; and Jack Eldon Moreland.  She attended school in Winters, Texas, but later graduated from Odessa High School, as her parents moved there her senior year.  

In September of 1952 in Honolulu, Hawaii, she married Thomas Paul Ambrose of New York City.  He was a member of the US Navy and was stationed in Honolulu.  She met Tom through her brother, Jack Moreland, who had become acquainted with him through their military service.  After his service in the Navy, Pat and Tom made their home in Odessa, Texas, where they raised three children, Debbie, Tom and Philip. 

Patricia loved her family and friends, and was active in the First Baptist Church in Winters, TX.   She enjoyed cooking, sewing and loved to travel.   She will be missed dearly.

Preceding her in death are her parents, D.L. and Lorene Moreland, sister Dean Robinson, Dorothy Dunnam and Jack Moreland.   She is survived by her children Debbie Van Stavern (James) of Midland, TX., Tom Ambrose (Lisa) of Clyde, TX. and Philip (Cheryl) of Tarpon Springs, FL.   She is also survived by eight grandchildren, fourteen great-grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews.
