Oleta Mae Fisher Branum, 91, of Abilene, went to be with her Lord and Savior on December 10, 2021 surrounded by her loved ones.
Oleta was born in Comanche County, Texas to Will and Minnie Fisher on February 2, 1930. She married Keith Branum, the love of her life, in April 1952 and he preceded her in death on October 20, 1996. She worked for Sears Roebuck and Company for over 20 years in the credit department. Oleta was a member of Pioneer Drive Baptist Church and loved participating with her Sunday school group. She was a volunteer for the Rose Park Group singers where she was the coordinator and leader. The group was a member of Retired Seniors Volunteer Program where she kept records once a month. She was an avid sports fan and truly loved her Dallas Cowboys and San Antonio Spurs.
Oleta was preceded in death by five brothers, six sisters and her grandson Corey Chittum.
Oleta is survived by her three daughters, Linda Branum Robbins and husband the late James Robbins, Janet Branum Chittum and husband Maxey, Rebecca Branum Carothers and husband Willie; grandchildren, Wesley Robbins and wife Jessica, Casey Chittum and wife Jennifer, Lori Hatcher and husband Justin, Valerie, Andrea Jones and husband Darrick, 11 great Grandchildren, one great-great granddaughter, and one brother Ardis Fisher and wife Lynda.
Pallbearers will be Wes Robbins, Casey Chittum, Grant Chittum, Cole Chittum, Justin Hatcher, and Darrick Jones. Honorary Pallbearers are Maxey Chittum, Dale Fisher, Ardis Fisher, and Willie Carothers.
Visitation will be Wednesday, December 15, from 6-8pm at The Hamil Family Funeral Home, 6449 Buffalo Gap Road.
Funeral services will be held at 2:00 pm on Thursday, December 16, at Pioneer Drive Baptist Church with Dr. Jeff Reid officiating. Burial will follow at Elmwood Memorial Park. Services are under the direction of The Hamil Family Funeral Home.
