Funeral services will be held Thursday, December 11th at 11:00 a.m. at Broadview Baptist Church with David Cason officiating, and Rev. Wes Terry. Services are under the direction of The Hamil Family Funeral Home, 6449 Buffalo Gap Road.
Jane was born in Covington, Tennessee, on May 28, 1949, to John Nick and Ila Jane Clowes. When she was just 3 years old, her family moved to Texas, where she later attended school in Port Lavaca and graduated from Calhoun High School in 1967. Jane experienced profound loss early in life, losing her mother at the age of 4 and her father when she was 17. These hardships shaped her gentle strength, resilience, and the deep compassion she carried throughout her life.
On July 13, 1967, she married the love of her life, Carroll E. Perkins, in Warner Robins, GA. Together they spent the next 20 years traveling the world during Carroll’s active-duty service. Jane cherished their time overseas, especially Turkey and Greece, where she embraced new cultures and built lifelong memories. She devoted herself to her family as a loving homemaker and mother, not just to her own two children but anyone who entered her home.
A faithful member of Broadview Baptist Church, Jane joyfully served her church family as a pre-school Sunday school teacher and church hostess. Her kindness, hospitality, and warm smile made everyone feel welcomed and cared for.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her sister Jean Fort, and her brother J.N. Clowes. Survived by her devoted husband of 58 years, Carroll; daughter Marci (Wilbur); son Jonathan (Michelle); her niece, sister-at-heart, and best friend, Carol Jean Foley; a host of beloved nieces and nephews, and her loyal four-legged guardians, Scout and Beauregard (Beau).
Jane was a loving, compassionate, and gracious woman whose presence brought light and comfort to all who knew her. Her memory will be cherished deeply, and her legacy of faith, strength, and kindness will live on in the many lives she touched.
The family would like to express their thanks to the doctors and ICU nurses at Hendrick Medical Center, especially Lynette, Tyler, and Jared.
