Nancy Kay Flint Bloodworth, 69, of Abilene passed away on Saturday, January 24, 2026, at home. Services will be Friday, January 30, 2026, at 11:00 a.m. at Hamil Family Funeral Home Chapel with Preacher Ryan Henson of The Table, officiating, under the direction of The Hamil Family Funeral Home, 6449 Buffalo Gap Road. Visitation will be Thursday, January 29, 2026, from 5:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. at the funeral home. 

Nancy was born October 24, 1956, to Spencer Boyd Flint, Sr. and Dorothy Christine Easter Flint. Nancy graduated from Graham High School in Graham Texas where she fell in love with all things literature. Nancy then attended Hardin Simmons University with a Bachelor of Arts, and finished her Masters at Abilene Christian University. Nancy met the love of her life, her precious Henry Bloodworth, in Brownfield and they married August 4, 1984 at the First Baptist Church in Graham, Texas. Nancy was an English teacher for Junior High in Brownfield ISD and Wylie ISD, and retired after 33 years of Teaching. She was named outstanding Young Women of America in 1980, a recognition that reflected who she always was. Dedicated, talented, and impactful, Nancy was a woman of deep faith, sharp wit, creativity, and unwavering love for her people. Her greatest passion in life was sharing her faith in Jesus Christ with everyone who crossed paths with her. She was devoted to her family and friends and didn't just love them fiercely; she loved intentionally, sacrificially, and without hesitation. Every student who entered her classroom she taught with discipline, humor, and heart, leaving a legacy that lives on in countless lives. Nancy loved words, poetry, writing, and calligraphy, she saw beauty in language and meaning in the written word. She found joy everywhere in crafts, decor, and creativity. She loved the color purple, lilac hues that reflected creativity, dignity, and faith, she lived a life colored by purpose, love, and unwavering belief. She was a light that never dimmed which was obvious by her positive attitude no matter the circumstance. 

Nancy is survived by her son John Ross Bloodworth and his wife Morgan; one daughter Emily Elizabeth Bloodworth; three grandchildren, Madison, Charlie and Brantley; and countless cousins, nieces and nephews. 

Nancy was preceded in death by her husband, Henry Bloodworth; son, David Bloodworth; Brother, Spencer Boyd Flint Jr, her parents, Spencer, Sr. and Dorothy Flint; uncle and aunt; Dr. and Mrs. Billy Easter; her paternal grandparents; and her maternal grandparents.

Honorary Pallbearers will be Robin Pritchett, DeeDee Baker, Shannon Robinson, Dana Elliot, Michael Elliot, and Joey Light. 

The Family of Nancy Bloodworth would like to thank Texas Oncology staff, Hendrick Hospice and any individual who cared and prayed for her.
