Joe Allen Mayfield, 68 of Tuscola, Texas passed away, on December 19, 2023, in Abilene, Texas.

Visitation will be Wednesday, January 3, 2024, from 5:00 – 7:00 p.m. at The Hamil Family Funeral Home. 

A memorial service will be held, Thursday January 4, 2024, at 2:00 p.m. at The Hamil Family Funeral Home, 6449 Buffalo Gap Rd.

Joe was born in Cisco, Texas to Robert and Bobbie Mayfield on March 25, 1955.  Joe went to school in Albany, Texas where he graduated from High School.  He married Sheila Gayle Mitchell on December 28, 1992, in Abilene, Texas.

He worked as a car salesman most of his career and then in sales and customer relations. He was involved in many cooking related events over the years, most of which were for charitable events.

Joe was preceded in death by his parents Robert and Bobbie Mayfield, many aunts and uncles, and many Friends (of which he had many).

Joe is survived by his wife Sheila Mayfield, two wonderful dogs Jewlz and Ellie Mae, his sister, Christie and brother-n-law Joe Key, his niece Lorie and husband Hunter Haas and their children Piper and Hayden, his nephew Rob and wife, Kirby Key and their children Porter and Avery Key, aunt and uncle George and Jeanette Proffitt, cousin, Jayme and Clayton and their children Hayes Skinner and Jody Simms and cousin Lisa and Greg Lemond, his Mother-in-law Patty Mitchell and Mother-in-law Kay and Father-in-law Earl Wright and numerous other family members and billions of friends.

I (Sheila) wish to thank each of Joes Albany friends who supported me through it all: Willie Macon, Randy Awalt, Mike Parsons, and Rick Miller of the class of ’74.
