Mary Louise Scalley

Mary Louise Scalley, 77, of Abilene passed away Wednesday, February 10, 2021. She was born on August 19, 1943 in Atlanta, Ga to Ormand and Josephine Maloney.

Visitation with friends and loved ones will be Saturday, February 20, from 12 pm until 1 pm at The Hamil Family Funeral Home, 6449 Buffalo Gap Road. The funeral service will follow at 1 pm at the funeral home.

Mary worked as a registered nurse for Hendrick Medical Center for 38 years. She was the department manager for the dialysis unit. She began her career on September 2, 1975 and retired on December 13, 2013; during this time, she received her ASN, BSN and MSN degrees in nursing. One of her achievements throughout her career was helping to design the New Outpatient Dialysis Center on Pine St.

Mary met John Scalley in Aberdeen, MD in 1959 and they were married for 62 years.

She was preceded in death by her parents Ormand and Josephine Maloney, her brother John Maloney, and her great-grandson Kevin Samuel See.

Mary is survived by her husband John Scalley; son Kevin Scalley and wife Lori; daughter Karen Hinshaw; daughter Mary Jo McLellan and husband Jerry; brother Ormand Maloney and wife Patricia; lifelong friend Ginny of Maryland; eight grandchildren, and 14 great-grandchildren.
