Mary Lou Liles

Mary Lou Liles, 95, of Abilene, passed away on Sunday, November 5, 2023 at her residence.

Visitation will be from 5:00 to 7:00 pm, Thursday, November 9, 2023 at The Hamil Family Funeral Home.

Funeral services will be held at 10:00 am, Friday, November 10, 2023, at The Hamil Family Funeral Home with Dr. Jeff Reid officiating. Burial will follow in Hamlin Memorial Cemetery, Hamlin, Texas with Rev. Charles “Pops” Farina officiating the committal service.  Services are under the direction of The Hamil Family Funeral Home, 6449 Buffalo Gap Road, Abilene.

Mary Lou was born in Texico, New Mexico to Nola Ann (Long) and James Gideon Smart on October 18, 1928. She married Spencer Lee Liles on January 11, 1947.  Mary Lou was a homemaker and an active member of Pioneer Drive Baptist Church for 52 years.

Mary Lou was preceded in death by her husband Spencer and her son Steven Ray Liles.

She is survived by her daughters, Judy Bailey of Abilene, and Connie Nutter of Lubbock; grandchildren, Shannon Maberry of Jal, New Mexico, Shawnna Ragain of Stephenville, and Auria Nutter of Lubbock; great grandchildren, Haley Yarbrough and husband Dustin of Carlsbad, New Mexico, Parker Ragain of Jal, New Mexico, and Camille Ragain of Stephenville; one great-great grandchild, Kollynns Yarbrough; sisters, Wanda Heatherly of Abilene, Malta Seaton of Marble Falls, and Barbara Herpeche of Lockhart.
