1940 — June 7, 2022

Mary Katherine McWilliams LaSalle, 82, of Abilene, passed away on Tuesday, June 7, 2022 in Graham, Texas.

Visitation will be 6 to 8 p.m., Thursday, June 9 at The Hamil Family Funeral Home.

Funeral services will be held 12 noon, Friday, June 10 at The Hamil Family Funeral Home with Pastor Clyde Kieschnick of Zion Lutheran Church officiating.  Burial will follow at Texas State Veterans Cemetery of Abilene.  Services are under the direction of The Hamil Family Funeral Home, 6449 Buffalo Gap Road.

Mary was born in San Antonio, Texas to Marvin William McWilliams and Dora Leigh Pace McWilliams on March 16, 1940.  Mary grew up and attended school in Conroe and Houston.  She married Charles Carlton LaSalle on August 1, 1959 in Houston, Texas.

Mary dedicated her life to being the best and most selfless mom any child or grandchild could want.  She lived out the role not only in the lives of her own children and grandchildren, but also in the lives of her children’s friends, extended family, and even strangers who crossed her path.  Together with her husband, she met the needs of many who needed mothering in their lives.  Consequently, she is adored by many, and her vivacious, fun-loving personality, which set so many at ease, will be greatly missed.

Mary was a creative person who dabbled in many artistic endeavors throughout her life, including sewing, painting, quilting, and photography, to name a few.

Mary was preceded in death by her husband Charles LaSalle, her parents Marvin McWilliams and Dora Leigh Pace, and her brother Ray McWilliams.

Mary is survived by her children, Katherine Lee Kelly and husband Patrick of Kingwood, Jane Marie Stout of Graham, Ralph William LaSalle and wife Letha of Graford, and Jennifer Ann Gilmore and husband Michael of Santa Fe, New Mexico; 7 grandchildren, Devin and wife Amber Kelly, Owen Kelly, Kevin and wife Meagan Stout, Mark Stout, Chad LaSalle, and Mena and Ciaran Gilmore; and 2 great-grandchildren, Eli Kelly and Hunter Stout; and many beloved nieces and nephews.

Pallbearers will be Devin Kelly, Owen Kelly, Kevin Stout, Mark Stout, Chad LaSalle, and Michael Senna.
