Mary Lynlee Darby, 61, of Buffalo Gap, passed away on December 13, 2021 in Abilene, Texas.
Visitation will be Sunday, December 19, 2021 from 5 to 7pm at The Hamil Family Funeral Home, 6449 Buffalo Gap Road.
Funeral services and burial will be held at 2pm on Monday, December 20, 2021 at the family ranch near Buffalo Gap (located at 5502 FM 89) with Cary Watson, officiating. Services are under the direction of The Hamil Family Funeral Home.
Lynlee was born on November 23, 1960 to William Perry (Bill) and Gwendolyn Sayles. She attended St. John’s and Bowie elementary schools and Jim Ned junior high school and graduated from Jim Ned High School in 1978. She briefly attended San Angelo State University, trained as a midwife and pursued a variety of jobs. She worked at Jim Ned schools for over 20 years. A talented cook and homemaker, she also operated a catering and events business and worked with Camp Able in Buffalo Gap. Although her life was full of many activities, her primary focus was always on her children and grandchildren and she was a constant presence in their lives.
Lynlee was preceded in death by her parents, Bill and Gwendolyn Sayles. She is survived by her brother Perry Sayles, her children and 18 grandchildren.
