Mary Frances Barrett

Mary Frances "Fran" Barrett, 91, of Abilene, passed away Friday, January 8, 2021 at her home in Abilene. She was born June 16, 1929 in Rosebud, Texas to Leonard Bryan Payne and Myrtle Beatrice (Jordan) Payne. Fran was a Registered Nurse and she worked as a disaster nurse opening shelters for the American Red Cross for 20 years. After retirement, she volunteered at Hospice of the Big Country. She was preceded in death by her parents and her husband, Arthur Thomas Barrett in 2004. Fran is survived by two daughters, Bea Garner and husband James of Abilene, and Caroline DeMarkis of Fredericksburg, VA.
