Marvagene Boler, 80, of Abilene, passed away Wednesday, April 19, 2023, in Abilene, TX.
Visitation will be held from 5:00 – 7:00 pm on Monday, April 24, at The Hamil Family Funeral Home, 6449 Buffalo Gap Rd. Funeral Service will be held at 10:00 am on Tuesday, April 25, at The Hamil Family Funeral Home. A Graveside service will follow at 2:00 pm at Cowboy Cemetery in McCulloch County.
Marvagene was born in Wharton, TX to Willie “Bill” Marvin and Imogene Valera Creech on July 8, 1942. She graduated from Rochelle High School and went on to attend Howard Payne University. She married Jimmie Rees Boler on March 25, 1964, in San Angelo, TX. She worked for Timex before going to work for Texas Instruments until her retirement. Marvagene was also a member of The Eastern Star.
Marvagene was preceded in death by her parents, Willie “Bill” and Imogene Creech, her husband Jimmie Rees Boler, and her sister Carol Carroll.
She is survived by her daughter Jamie Miers and husband Shannon of Tuscola, son Rees Boler and wife Karen of Los Alamos, NM, sister Dessie Harlow of San Antonio; grandchildren: Rees Boler II and wife Beth, James Boler, Seth Heatherly, Landon Miers, and one great-grandchild Rees “Tripp” Boler III.
The family would like to thank Dr. Jeffrey Edwards for his impeccable and patient care, her beloved Meals on Wheels volunteers, Hendrick Hospice, and Mary Beth Slaughter for her tender care and love during her last months.
In lieu of flowers, Memorials may be made to Shriner’s Hospitals, Scottish Rite Hospitals or Meals on Wheels.
