Martha Jane Renfro

Martha Jane Renfro, 82, of Abilene, passed away on Christmas Day, December 25, 2021.

She was born on November 18, 1939, to Robert Milton and Rosie Lee (Johnson) Cathey in Greenville, TX.

A Celebration of Martha's life will be held at 1:00 pm on Wednesday, December 29, 2021 at Southern Hills Church of Christ. Arrangements are under the direction of The Hamil Family Funeral Home, 6449 Buffalo Gap Road.

Martha was employed by ACU for 30 years, where she was loved and respected by many, and she was affectionately known as "Mother Superior" to staff and students. She was a lifelong member of the Abilene Star Chorus, where she was able to enjoy her passion for singing. Her presence will be missed by many.

She was preceded in death by her parents Robert and Rosie Cathey, and her sister Anita Wright.

Martha is survived by her loving husband, Robert Renfro; her brother, Bob Cathey; daughters, Cathey Renfro Beaty and Lisa Renfro Bowman; grandchildren: Heather Vallier, Justin Flatt, Sean Beaty, Shannon Flatt, and Jacquelyn Flatt. She also has five great-grandchildren, Braedyn Beal, Boston Vallier, Maddox Beaty, Rylie Flatt, and Carson Flatt.
