Obituary

Marsha Diane Hill, a beloved wife, mother and cherished friend, passed away peacefully at her home on July 27, 2026, at the age of 65.

Visitation will be held from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m., Friday, July 31, 2026, at The Hamil Family Funeral Home, 6449 Buffalo Gap Rd., Abilene.

Funeral Services will be held at 2:00 p.m., Saturday, August 1, 2026, at The Hamil Family Funeral Home Chapel, with Shaun Chastain officiating.

Born on December 2, 1960, in Abilene, Texas, Marsha was a beacon of warmth and kindness, whose light touched many hearts throughout her life. Marsha was the daughter of the late Mary Francis Motes and Dwayne Max Motes. She was predeceased by her loving husband, James Dean Hill, with whom she shared a beautiful journey of love since their marriage on March 10, 1981. Together, they raised a family filled with love and laughter.

Marsha is also preceded in death by her beloved son, Joshua Hill. She is survived by her devoted son, Justin Hill, and his wife Amanda, her loving daughter, Allison Hill, and her four treasured grandchildren, Bailey, Gracie, Ethan, and Wyatt, who were the joys of her life, Marsha's brother, David Motes of Abilene, and her sister, Melinda Rifenburgh, along with numerous friends, will forever hold her memory dear.

Marsha had a fulfilling career, working first for the City of Abilene water department and later at the Abilene Indoor Gun Range. Her colleagues remember her as a diligent and compassionate team member who brought positivity to every workplace. Her hobbies and interests painted a vivid picture of her vibrant personality. Whether she was working on a puzzle, getting lost in coloring books, or enjoying countless episodes of "Law & Order," Marsha found joy in simple pleasures. She had a keen eye for hidden treasures at estate and garage sales and had a heart always open to lending a hand. She was known for helping anyone in need, and her home was a sanctuary for stray animals, reflecting her boundless compassion and empathy.

Marsha's family wishes to extend their heartfelt gratitude to her caregiver and friend, Shannan, whose dedication and kindness made a profound impact during Marsha's final years. "Thank you for everything you did taking care of our parents; you went above and beyond. You are truly appreciated."

Marsha will be remembered as one of the sweetest souls, a woman who knew no strangers and welcomed all with open arms. Her legacy of love, kindness, and unwavering positivity will continue to inspire all who were fortunate enough to know her. May her gentle spirit rest in eternal peace
