Margaret Catherine Mazeski

1944 — June 2, 2021

Margaret Catherine Mazeski, 77, of Abilene, returned to her father in Heaven on Wednesday, June 2, 2021 in Abilene.

Rosary and memorial services will be held at 6 p.m. Monday, June 14, 2021 at The Hamil Family Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Mamachan Joseph of the Holy Family Catholic Church, officiating. Services are under the direction of The Hamil Family Funeral Home, 6449 Buffalo Gap Road.

Margaret was born on March 27, 1944 in Spokane, Washington. She graduated with a bachelor’s degree from the University of Washington and a master’s degree from Seattle University. She worked for the State of Washington and the Archdiocese of Seattle. She was an Oblate of Saint Benedict at Saint Martin’s Abbey.  She dedicated her life to the service of others as well as prayed daily for the loss of innocent life.   She moved to Abilene from Moses Lake, Washington.

Margaret was preceded in death by her mother, Alice McKinney. 

Margaret is survived by her son, Mark Hooper of Abilene; two nieces Heather Hanson of Wenatchee and Jennifer Johnson of Anchorage; one sister, Barbara Garza of Walla Walla.

Family suggests memorials may be made to Taylor County Humane Association or Intercessors of America.
