Margaret Hulsey

Margaret Shahan Hulsey, age 81, went home to be with our Lord and Savior on Monday, May 19, 2025, in her home in Austin, Texas.

She was born April 20, 1944, in Abilene, Texas to Ben and Ruth (Curly) Shahan. Margaret, also known as Peggy, was in the first graduating class of Abilene Cooper. She graduated from the University of Texas in Microbiology. She later went back to school to be a medical transcriptionist. Margaret worked at Central Texas Pediatric Orthopedics in Austin for over 25 years.

 Margaret was a faithful member of Hyde Park Baptist Church. Her heart was always towards helping others, loving her family, and spoiling her cats.

 She loved traveling all around the world. Hawaii and Israel are two of her favorites.

 Margaret is preceded in death by her father, Ben Shahan and mother, Ruth Shahan.

 She is survived by her brother and his wife, Don and Ginger Shahan of Abilene, Texas and their three children: Brandon and Jennifer (Kaytlyn and Audrey), Dr. Eric and Kelli Hill (Noah, Gabe, and Leah Claire), Ryan and Ashley Shahan (Ryley, Asher, Jax). She is also survived by many family members on the Shahan and Ferguson side. 

Memorial gathering with visitation will be 10:00am to 11:00am on Saturday, May 31, 2025 at The Hamil Family Funeral Home on 6449 Buffalo Gap Road in Abilene, Texas 79606.  

There was a great celebration in heaven as Margaret (Peggy) was reunited with her parents and all friends and family that went before her. She will be truly missed.
