Madie Walker of Abilene, TX passed away on Thursday, July 16, 2026 in the home of Rex & Jan Busby, her son & daughter-in-law.

Graveside services will be held at later date in Eunice, NM, for family & friends.

Madie was born in BeBe, Ark. on January 30, 1930. She married Cedell Busby in BeBe, Ark in 1947. They moved to Eunice, NM. in 1950.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Cedell; son David; and daughter, Barbara Moran; and her second husband, Don Walker. After the passing of Cedell, she married Don Walker in 1957. They were married 68 years until his death on April 29, 2025.

She's survived by her son, Rex Busby (Jan), son-in-law, Ron Moran; sister, Juanita Dickson of Searcy, Ark; grandchildren, Jason, Joshua Busby, Karen, Steven Moran; great-grandchildren, Taye, Ravin, Willow, Busby, Ryan & Avery Moore and Whitney Moran.

Madie was a homemaker until 1966, when she decided to attend New Mexico Junior College in Hobbs, NM. She took accounting classes which led her to a career in finance and business. She first went to work for Eunice School system as a financial secretary, followed by financial secretary at College of the Southwest. She then went to work at Eunice Well Service Co. As she worked the next ·twenty+ years, she rose to the position of President of Eunice Well Service. She and her son, Rex Busby, later purchased the company.

She loved her Lord & Savior Jesus Christ, and preached many sermonettes to her children, grandchildren & great-grandchildren.
