Lucy Elizabeth Jowers

Lucy Elizabeth (Dickson) Jowers, of Abilene, passed away on January 12, 2022, in Abilene.

Viewing hours will be from 12:00 pm to 5:00 pm Sunday January 16, 2022, at The Hamil Family Funeral Home, 6449 Buffalo Gap Road.

Funeral services will be held at 10:00 am Monday January 17, 2022, at The Hamil Family Funeral Home.  Burial will follow at 1:00 pm at Oplin Cemetery in Callahan County.

Lucy was born in California to John Bartley Dickson and Lucy Elizabeth (Taylor) Dickson.  She married the love of her life, Edwin Clayton Jowers, in Bangs, TX, and spent the next 49 years of her life raising their family together.  She was a wonderful cook and enjoyed spending time with her children and grandchildren.

Lucy was preceded in death by her parents.

Lucy is survived by her husband Edwin Clayton Jowers; sons Clayton Richard Jowers, John Bradley Jowers, and Jason David Jowers; daughter Joanna Newman; sisters Sylvia Harris and Lori Junkin; as well as 9 grandchildren, 2 great grandchildren, and numerous nieces, nephews, and other relatives.

Pallbearers will be Aaron Newman, Tyler Newman, Seth Newman, Hunter Jowers, David Jowers, Wyatt Jowers, and Trent Jowers.
