Obituary

Lucy Kathleen Chrane Armor

Lucy Kathleen Chrane Armor, 87, of Abilene, Texas, passed away peacefully on Friday, October 30, 2026, in Abilene.

Visitation with the family will be held on Monday, November 2, 2026, from 5pm-7pm at The Hamil Family Funeral Home, 6449 Buffalo Gap Road, Abilene, Texas.

Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, November 3, 2026, at 2pm at Highway 36 Church of Christ with Terry Chrane officiating. Burial will follow at Tecumseh Cemetery. Services are under the direction of The Hamil Family Funeral Home.

Kathleen was born in Taylor County, Texas, to Leo and Lena Mae (Preston) Chrane on March 22, 1939. She was raised on her family's ranch in the Dudley community, attended school in Clyde, and was an avid basketball player in her youth.

She married the love of her life, John Armor, on August 16, 1956. Together, they shared 70 beautiful years of marriage, living, working, and building a life on their ranch in the Tecumseh and Dudley communities. Kathleen was a woman of many talents; she was an exceptionally gifted seamstress, a creative artist, and a wonderful cook. Her greatest joy, however, was her family. She loved traveling to watch her grandchildren and great-grandchildren participate in their various sporting events, always serving as their biggest cheerleader. Kathleen was also proud to be an original member of the Highway 36 Church of Christ, where her faith and community flourished.

Kathleen was preceded in death by her parents, Leo and Lena Mae Chrane, and her beloved grandson, John Hicks.

She is survived by her loving husband, John Armor; her children, daughter Darlene Tyler and husband Randy, and daughter Tammy Barton and husband Jeff; her brother, Gary Chrane and wife Sandra; and her sister, Glenna Landers and husband Mike. She also leaves behind her cherished grandchildren, granddaughter Lucy Bishop and husband Jim Bill, granddaughter Tamara Farrar and husband Gregory, and grandson Austin Barton; her precious great-grandchildren, Laken Bishop, Logan Bishop, Grady Farrar, and Lawson Farrar; as well as numerous nieces, nephews, and dear friends.

Pallbearers will be Royce Lawrence, Marty Parker, Steve Ellis, Cody Lawrence, Cole Landers, and Mark Ellis.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be given to the Tecumseh Cemetery, 15795 County Road 205, Clyde, TX 79510.

The family wishes to extend their sincere thanks to the staff at Chisholm Court and Enhabit Hospice for the loving and constant care they gave to our Granda.
