Lorne George Howell, 65, passed away on Saturday, July 25, 2026, in Abilene, TX.

Memorial services will be held Thursday, August 6, 2026, at 2:00pm at The Hamil Family Funeral Home. Services are under the direction of The Hamil Family Funeral Home, 6449 Buffalo Gap Road.

Lorne was born in Wilkinsburg, PA to George and Anna Howell on December 22, 1960. He went to school in Anaheim, CA and Roseburg, OR. He graduated from Roseburg High School. He married Mary on November 13, 1982, in Fort Stockton, TX. He worked as a Biomedical Repair Technician for GE for 15 years. He was a 20-year veteran of the Air Force and was awarded two Air Force achievements and four Air Force commendation medals. Lorne loved his family, being outdoors, and fishing.

Lorne was preceded in death by his parents, George and Anna, and four sisters.

Lorne is survived by his wife, Mary Howell, his sons Lorne Michael Howell (Krista Howell) and Jakob Kyle Howell (Kaylie Billington), his grandchildren, Addison Rayne Howell, Taylor Ryker Howell, and Lucas Gavin Howell, sister, Kathy Stone (Michael Stone), as well as his nephew, Dan Fox (Rachel Fox) and several other nieces and nephews.
