Linda Taylor Hagler, 82, of Abilene, formerly of Anson, passed away with her family at her side on Tuesday, September 10, 2024.
A visitation will be held at Hamil Family Funeral Home from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. on Tuesday, September 17th located at 6449 Buffalo Gap Road in Abilene.
A graveside service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday, September 18th at Elmwood Memorial Park in Abilene located at 5750 Highway 277 South with Pastor Lonnie Lehrman officiating.
Linda was born August 14, 1942 to Clyde and Ava Lee Mize in Tahoka, Texas. Linda married Bobby Taylor in 1961 in Abilene, Texas. They were married thirty-two years before Bobby's death in 1993. Linda then married Dr. Max Hagler in 1996 in Anson, Texas. They were married six years before Max's death in 2002.
Linda was a homemaker who loved gardening, cooking, quilting, and decorating her home, especially at Christmas. She loved family get togethers and listening to gospel music. She was active in church and oversaw the organization and preparation of funeral luncheons at First Baptist Church in Anson for several years. She was everyone's prayer warrior and a strong believer in Christ.
Linda is preceded in death by her two husbands, her parents, brothers W.T. Mize, Doyle Mize, and R.L. Mize and two sisters, Joyce Graham and Sue Hudgins.
Survivors include two sons, Brian Taylor and wife Kelly of Abilene and Donald (Rusty) Taylor of Abilene State Supported Living Center, one granddaughter Mackenzie Taylor and one grandson Brennen Taylor, both of Abilene. Linda is survived by siblings Wanda Liner and husband Jim, Ann Black and husband Derrel, Clyde Mize and wife Betty, and Wayne Mize and wife Marilyn as well as many nieces and nephews.
The family would like to express their sincere thanks to Hendrick Hospice Care of Abilene, Mesa Springs Skilled Nursing and Independent Living, Touching Hearts at Home, and Dr. Cory Brown and Staff for their close watch and care over Linda.
