Lewis Harrison Smith, 76, of Abilene, TX passed away on Sept.15, 2022 in Abilene, TX, surrounded by his family, after a short battle with cancer.

Visitation will be held at 1:00pm with funeral services beginning at 2:00pm on Saturday, September 24th at Lytle South Baptist Church, located at 1125 E. Industrial Blvd., Abilene, Tx. 79602, under the direction of The Hamil Family Funeral Home.

Lewis was born in Brownwood, TX to Firman Harrison Smith and Mary Honea Smith on November 14, 1945. He graduated from Brownwood High School and married Brenda Hudson Smith on September 11, 1964 in Brownwood, Tx. Lewis retired as an Engineer from Burlington Northern Santa Fe before becoming a Real Estate Agent with Remax of Abilene.  Lewis was a member of Lytle South Baptist Church in Abilene, TX.

Lewis was preceded in death by his wife Brenda Hudson Smith and his parents, Firman Harrison Smith and Mary Honea Smith.  Lewis is survived by his brother, James Firman Smith and his wife Dyann Smith of Lucas, TX, his son, Stephen Smith and wife, Darcy Smith of Billings, MT, his son, Cody Smith of Abilene, TX and his daughter, Amy Smith Quintana and her husband Fernando Quintana of Abilene, TX.  His grandchildren include: Victoria Smith; Michael Quintana; Morgan Smith; Christian Smith; Olivia Smith; Abby Cerda; Nicholas Smith; Ellie Smith; and Ana Brenda Ruiz Quintana.

The family would like to thank the staff of Hendricks South, Hendricks Hospice Care, Hamil Family Funeral Home, and all friends and family for their dedication and support.
