Lester Pete Massey

Lester Massey, of Abilene, died Sunday, September 7, 2008 at the age of 98. Graveside services will be today, Tuesday September 9, at 9:00 a.m. in Elmwood Memorial Park, directed by The Hamil Family Funeral Home, 6449 Buffalo Gap Road. Rev. Wayne Oglesby will officiate. May 14, 1910, Lester was born the daughter of the late Willie and Ola (Hart) Pritchett in Corsicana, Texas. She married William Gerald "Bill" Massey in Abilene on July 31, 1962. He preceded her in death on May 23, 1982. Abilene has been Lester's home since 1927. For over 20 years, she was the bookkeeper for Howard Drug Store. Lester was a member of the Eastern Star and Calvary Baptist Church. Lester was preceded in death by her parents, Willie and Ola Prichett, her husband, Bill Massey, two sisters and three brothers. She is survived by numerous nieces and nephews. The family would like to thank Hospice of the Big Country and Home Instead for their help and compassionate care.
