We know that every minute of his available time, Leroy cherished his time with his grandkids and family. He ensured to spend as much time as possible outdoors and making many new memories to forever cherish. He enjoyed cooking and spreading his knowledge to all those who would be there to learn (and/or suffer through the chili heat). He had a passion for camping anywhere he could pull his RV. He loved being in nature. His parents instilled a love of travelling to see the wonders of the world, big or small, hidden or known. Fishing and firearms sportsmanship were also favorite pastimes. Leroy enjoyed playing his guitars and listening to various types of music, sometimes shaking the house foundation with his speaker system. He loved reading, J.R.R. Tolkien and Tom Clancy being two of his favorite authors. However, his bible is the most worn book in his collection. Leroy was a selfless man, always putting family, friends, and others before himself. His favorite family memories were the birth of his children and grandchildren.

Above all, Leroy was a man of Faith. He stated that his greatest life lessons were that “God is in control, not us. We must submit daily to Him. Enjoy family and friends. Take time to listen and nurture them.” Leroy also said that his most treasured accomplishments were “Seeing my kids and grandchildren come to know the Lord”.
