If you were fortunate enough to be invited into their home, you would be blessed by her wonderful cooking and leave feeling like the most important person in the world, as she and James waved goodbye all the way down the street. LaVerne was a dedicated mother and took immense pride in her grandchildren and great grandchildren.

She and James were active members of St. Paul First United Methodist Church. In 2016, they moved to Waxahachie and became members of Waxahachie First United Methodist Church.
