Kimberly Ann Godines, 45, of Abilene, passed away at her home on Sunday, October 17, 2021. She was born in Pordenone, Italy, to Walter and Sharon (Shive) VanDenHouten on January 17, 1976.
Celebration of Kimberly's life will be held at New Beginnings Church at 6:30 pm on Friday, October 22. Arrangements are under the direction of The Hamil Family Funeral Home, 6449 Buffalo Gap Road.
Kimberly attended and graduated from Cooper High School in Abilene. She was a fantastic gymnast in high school, and she also met the love of her life, Johnny Godines, at 15 years old. Truly high school sweethearts, they married and had two children together, Jaedon and Kinley. Kimberly’s family was her whole world, and she lived her life for her family. She was an accomplished artist, photographer, and a great storyteller. She had a way with words to make anyone listen to just about anything she could tell them. She worked at the Dyess Federal Credit Union for a bit, before realizing her true calling was staying home and raising her children.
She is survived by her parents, Walter and Sharon VanDenHouten; husband, Johnny Godines; son, Jaedon Van Godines; daughter, Kinley Renee Godines, all of Abilene; sister, Lisa Vasile and husband Vince, and their daughters Sydney and Sophia all of Seattle, aunt, Janene Shive Gryder; father in-law and mother in-law, John and Bel Godines; sister-in-law, Sylvia Calerdon and her children Jacob and Joey; sister-in-law, Rebecca Medrano and husband David, and their children Julian and Daven; her cousin Amy Harris; and her fur-babies.
