Kent Noble

March 25, 1950 — March 10, 2026

Kent Jay Noble, 75, of Abilene, Texas, passed away surrounded by his loving family. Kent was born on March 25, 1950, in Clinton, Oklahoma, to John Andrew Noble and Opal Lee Noble.

Kent graduated from Snyder High School in 1968 before continuing his education at Texas Tech University and San Angelo State University, where he earned a degree in Mathematics. He built a long and respected career with Freightliner in Wichita Falls, Texas, where he served as General Manager for 35 years.

On May 11, 1979, Kent married the love of his life, Linda Hawley Noble, in Wichita Falls, Texas. The couple built a life together there and remained in Wichita Falls until November 20, 2025, when they moved to Abilene, Texas to be closer to their family.

Kent was a devoted husband, father, and grandfather. He is survived by his loving wife, Linda Noble; his son, Justin Alexander Noble, and daughter-in-law, Kristal Pruet Noble; and his cherished grandchildren, Peyton Lee Noble and Brylin Marie Noble. His brother, Keith Noble and wife Linda. His nephew, Barrett Noble, his wife Carla and their children and grandchildren.

His grandchildren were one of the greatest joys of his life, and he loved walking, exploring, and sharing adventures with them.

Kent had many passions throughout his life. He enjoyed golfing, bird watching, and cheering for the Texas Tech Red Raiders—something he and his family talked about often. He was known for his deep and undeniable faith, his love for his country, and the unwavering devotion he showed to his family.

One song that always held a special place in Kent’s heart was “Somewhere Over the Rainbow.” Family and friends will fondly remember that if anyone interrupted the song—or tried to sing along with a less-than-perfect voice—Kent would playfully “lose it,” a memory that still brings smiles to those who knew him best.

Kent was preceded in death by his parents, John Andrew Noble and Opal Lee Noble, and his niece, Amy D. Osteen.

A memorial service honoring Kent’s life will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, March 14, 2026, at The Hamil Family Funeral Home 6449 Buffalo Gap Rd., Abilene, Texas. Following the service, family and friends are invited to gather for lunch at the home of Justin and Kristal Noble, 41 Pinehurst, for fellowship and remembrance.

Kent will be remembered for his strength of character, his sense of humor, his faith, and most of all the deep love he had for his family. His legacy lives on in the lives of those who knew and loved him.
