Juana Sue May, 85, of Abilene, passed away on March 23, 2021 in Abilene.

Funeral services will be held 10:00 a.m. Saturday, March 27, 2021 at The Hamil Family Funeral Home with Mack Peacock officiating.   Burial will follow at Bethel Cemetery in Anson, Texas.  Services are under the direction of The Hamil Family Funeral Home, 6449 Buffalo Gap Road.

Sue was born in Anson, Texas to Altha and Odice Pearce on September 11, 1935.  She graduated from Anson High School in 1953. She married the love of her life Ross May on March 4, 1954 in Anson, Texas. She worked as an employee at the Tax Assessor Collector Office in Anson and was also an employee of The First National Bank of Anson before moving to Alaska to be with Ross. After returning from Alaska, she worked for Ace Air Conditioning in Abilene for several years. She then worked for the Abilene Independent School District for 28 years, retiring in 1996. Sue made many friends during her life and was loved by many. She was the best Nana to her grandchildren Keith and Nikki and had recently become a Great Nana to Daniel.

Sue was preceded in death by her parents Altha and Odice Pearce and her beloved sister Sara Mitchell. 

Sue is survived by her husband of 67 years Ross May, son Larry and wife Patty, son Carl and wife Lucy, grandson Keith and wife Shaunda, great-grandson Daniel, and granddaughter Nikki May.
