Joy Shirleen Tichenor.

“It’s a great, great morning… her first day in heaven.”

Joy Shirleen Tichenor born March 10th, 1944 in Wheaton Missouri. On April 2, 2026, she was welcomed into the loving arms of Jesus.

 On March 29th, 1977 she was United in Marriage to Edwin Tichenor, they shared 48 years together serving their Lord through music ministry and raising their family. She was a member of Broadview Baptist Church and her love for her Savior always present by the way she lived. She served the community which she was from by serving as a Funeral Director, owner of Mortuary and later Vice President for Rita Barber Inc.

 Survivors include her husband Ed Tichenor, two daughters Stacey Linette Tichenor and husband Mike of Wheaton MO. Kayleen Rosales and husband Juan of Abilene, TX. 9 grand-children, 17 great grand children 

She was preceded in death by her mother, Willadean Sturgeon; her father, Lester Cooper; and her brother; Bill Cooper 

Graveside services will be held at Elliott Hamil Cemetery April 6th at 2 pm Brother David Cason will be officiating 

Our pallbearers will be the strong, loving men of our family—carrying her with honor.
