JoVeta Wallace Harvey, passed away Sunday, 18 May 2025 in Abilene, Texas.

Graveside services will be 1:00pm on Wednesday, May 21, 2025, at the Texas State Veterans Cemetery at 7457 W Lake Rd, Abilene, Texas 79601. Arrangements are with The Hamil Family Funeral Home, 6449 Buffalo Gap Rd. Abilene, Texas 79606

JoVeta was born to Joseph Ervin Wallace and Wilma Frances Kite in Coleman, Texas on 19 November 1936.

She was raised in Coleman, Ballinger, Seminole and Haskell, the daughter of a Blacksmith. She was working as a soda jerk at the old drug store on the courthouse square in Haskell when she first met Cecil Elmer Harvey. He had recently returned from the Korean Conflict. They were married on 21 July 1955 in Haskell, Haskell Co., Texas. He proceeded her in death on 9 January 2011.

JoVeta was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. She was an excellent homemaker and seamstress. She was an avid quilter. She loved gardening and working in her flowerbeds.

JoVeta was proceeded in death by her parents, brothers and sisters.

She is survived by her two daughters, Nancy Yorks and Carol Sue Heath, her six grandchildren, T. J., David, Jennifer, Melissa, Jonathan, Daniel and 13 great-grandchildren.
